About the Author
HR grew up in the deserts and mountains of New Mexico—the Land of Enchantment. From a very early age, he was always exploring, adventuring, and learning—roaming through the wilderness with his dog, Scamp, building an erector set, or mixing chemicals in his bedroom. HR never outgrew his driving desire to understand how things work.
He began his formal education while serving in the US Air Force, where he also met and married his beautiful wife, Gwen. While raising two incredible kids, HR and Gwen founded a large international non-profit organization that touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in five countries. Growing up in an alcoholic and abusive home drove HR to create and build programs such as a food bank, hot meals program, free clothing center, and recovery programs for adults and youth. Internationally HR and his team helped build orphanages in Uganda, India, and Mexico and helped bring clean water to the Massai tribe in Kenya. HR has given roughly 4,000 talks to 600,000 people around the world.
HR began writing to share his experience and journey in the hopes of helping others with theirs. When he’s not writing or teaching, HR still loves to backpack, climb mountains and scuba dive. He’s determined to continue asking questions and pass on what he learns.
